
Catherine Jane Ford, born 5 December 1969, is an English comedian writer, actress, and actor. Her performance in The Catherine Tate Show, which is a BBC sketch comedy series has brought her many accolades. Tate was nominated for seven BAFTAs as well as an International Emmy Award. Tate was Donna Noble's co-star in Doctor Who's Christmas special of 2006. The actress later reprised her role and was later the Tenth Doctor's companion on a regular basis in the fourth series of Doctor Who in 2008. [2] After the huge popularity of The Catherine Tate Show, Tate played Joanie Taylor ("Nan") in the BBC One comedy series Catherine Tate's Nan (2009-2015) as well as in the movie The Nan Movie (2022). She first appeared as Nellie Bertram, a frequent character in The Office's U.S. version, in 2011. She continued to be an ongoing character until the finale of the series. She played the role of Miss Sarah Postern (2013-2014), and Magica de Spell (2017-2021) in the BBC One sitcom Big School.
